A new statewide trade association has been established to advocate for Michigan’s developing cannabis industry.

The Michigan Cannabis Industry Association, which debuted Jan. 15, is billed as “the leading voice for the state’s cannabis businesses” regarding both medical marijuana and adult-use recreational marijuana.

“Michigan has an opportunity to become a national leader in developing a successful and responsible cannabis industry and the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association will bring all aspects of the state’s newly emerging cannabis industry together to speak as a united voice,” MCIA Executive Director Robin Schneider stated in a news release.
